Jewelry Design

Jewelry design may take into account a wide range of aesthetics or emphases. Even among the work of a specific designer, it is quite common to find some variety. Here are a few examples of the different concepts which may be deeply influential for jewelry design:

  1. Sometimes an item may be designed to reflect specific aesthetics. These include such things as minimalism, emphasis on a particular color, or the use of certain patterns. The initial inspiration for this may come from the changing artistic focuses of different designers.

  2. Jewelry design may also be geared toward replicating designer aesthetics. Often, trends have an initial start which gets spread along through different groups of people.

  3. Sometimes particular pieces take into account the symbology of certain traditions. These may take on direct images or offer new interpretations. Examples of symbolistic jewelry options include journey necklaces, promise rings, and religious pendants.
