Body Jewelry
Body jewelry is used in body piercing. In general, this
term is used for other parts of the body than the ears, despite the
fact that ears are of course a part of the body. This is because the
ears are very commonly pierced in many parts of the world. As a result,
earrings are widely available.
As body jewelry has become more and more fashionable, a wider range
of styles have become available. They may be created from many different
materials. Traditionally, gold and silver were the most commonly chosen
options. Today they are still very popular.
In addition to these standard material choices, body jewelry may also
be created from surgical steel and titanium. Non-metals may also be
used. The range of plastic options include PTFE, nylon, bioplast, and
tygon. Glass, wood, stone, bamboo, silicone, horn, amber, and bone are
other options. Some people may even make use of custom porcelain.
